Which type of fabric to choose?
This design is printed on cotton canvas and a cotton velvet. Velvet is a good fabric for sofas, chairs and cushions as it’s so hardwearing, soft and luxurious. A velvet sofa is a dream to sit in. Most upholstery velvets are made of polyester which is made from petrochemicals which are not biodegradable, but ours is made of cotton, a natural fabric.
This cotton velvet is 140cm wide, the design has a repeat drop of 25cm and the fabric weight is 250 gsm (grams per square metre).
Our upholstery fabric is hard wearing and suitable for curtains, general furnishing, blinds and cushions. All our designs are hand painted and printed by traditional printers in the UK.
