About artist and founder, Katy McIntyre Brown

I’m Katy McIntyre Brown — a British artist, designer, and nature-lover, creating hand-painted floral patterns for modern, sustainable homes.

I’ve always believed that the beauty of nature brings us a sense of calm and the chance to reset in our hectic lives. After years of working as a painter of plants and landscapes, and exhibiting in galleries across Kenya and the UK, I launched Katy Botanicals in 2014. My aim was to bring my artwork off the painter’s canvas and into homes.

On our return from Kenya I completed at Masters Degree in Textile Design and started researching how images of plants effects our brain, in a good way, and the best and most ethical fabrics and printers I could find in the UK.

After years of research, I now offer you Katy Botanicals floral fabrics and wall coverings. I believe that what we buy and choose to surround ourselves with is about more than decoration — it can be about reconnecting with nature, honouring craftsmanship, and enjoying a quiet beauty to the things we touch every day.

I offer pieces that are beautiful and functional - tea towels made from the best quality 100% linen, natural tablecloths, printed to order and hand finished, that you can choose to have made up to any length, to adorn the longest celebratory dinning table under the trees. Tablecloths perfect for weddings and summer parties. Our furnishing fabrics are soft, durable and perfect for curtains, blinds, cushions, soft furnishings. Our natural floral cotton velvets are hard wearing and gorgeous on sofas, chairs, curtains and more.

I also take commissions creating garden wall designs for interiors, both domestic and institutional. I’ve created wall designs for country houses, hospitals and charity headquarters. Working with Horatio’s Garden our wall coverings won a five star medal at Chelsea Flower show 2025.

My products are designed to last a long time, bringing pleasure for years. Hopefully you’ll come back for more because you’ve fallen in love with Katy Botanicals.
